In brief: Retinoblastoma
There are many treatment options for retinoblastoma.
The treatment depends on the nature of the tumor and whether or not it has spread beyond the eye. For a good overview of treatment options and side effects, follow this link to the national eye institute: http://www.Cancer.Gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/retinoblastoma/patient/page5.

In brief: Treatment Issues
A number of sight sparing treatments are available, but are possible for smaller tumors that have not spread.
Cyrotherapy freezes and kills the tumor, photocoagulation destroys the blood vessels that feed the tumor. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy may be needed for spread, and a large tumor may need enucleation, or removal of the eyeball, and loss of sight.
