In brief: Hemifacial spasm

The twitching you describe may be hemifacial spasm. This usually affects one side.
Often the twitching starts in the eye and spreads to the mouth. An MRI of the brain will ensure that there is not a structural reason for the twitching. See a neurologist or neurosurgeon to make the diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
