My vitamin D level is 13 out of 30 after blood test. I was prescribed D2, which made me sick and doctor said not to take anymore. How do I increase?

Get some sun! Docs will often prescribe 2000 IU of Vitamin D daily to patients that are deficient or 50,000 IU once a month. They may prescribe more for severe deficiency. If you cannot tolerate the pills, a little sun will do the trick. Too much sun we worry about skin cancer, but if you are fair skinned 10 minutes in the mid-day sun will provide you with 10,000 IU. This would not be a great risk skin cancer.
