In brief: Somewhat
Dexamethasone is a antiinflammatory and it does seem to aid in lessening of post extraction swelling and pain.

In brief: Yes
Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid antiinflammatory drug which reduces swelling.
Most post operative pain caused by wisdom teeth removal is due to swelling. I routinely give dexethasone IV prior to the patient dismissal. It can be taken orally as well.

In brief: Yes...Anti Inflam
Any anti-inflammatory medication can help.
Aleve, (naproxen) motrin, advil and even a holistic alternative arnica. Ice to minimize swelling can also be helpful... Another aid you may consider is sleep dentistry. Our team uses anti-anxiety pre-medication, which can help. Ask your dentist.
