In brief: Mistake to remove it

Bextra and vioxx, both cox-2 inhibitors, were both removed.
This was very unwise. We use a lot of medications which are much more risky than these. You just have to carefully monitor all meeications. There are no substitutes yet - the closest is Celebrex (celecoxib) which is also a cox-2 inhibitor. Our patients will respond to some of those in the NSAID group but none of the others are cox-2 inhibitors.

In brief: Yes

There are many antiinflammatory medications on the market.
They all have the potential for side effects and some work well in some patients while others do not. Your doctor should be able to discuss substitutes for you.
