Because of the amount of inflammation that occurs as the cervix and uterus are healing and returning to normal after a delivery (vaginal or cesarean section) you should wait at least six weeks before having a pap smear. Normally your obstetrician will perform one no sooner than 12 months after your last pap smear or in 3-6 months if you have had abnormal paps.
Depends. You would be ready of the next pap about three months after the delivery. However when you get the test depends on your earlier results and your hpv status. If you are not sure, see your doctor about a year following your last pap.
