Children with cough and fever often do not have a bacterial infection, the only thing that antibiotics will be effective against.
If that is the case, then changing antibiotics will only subject them to the risks associated with inappropriate antibiotic usage. If they are not very ill, let it run its course. They will develop resistance to that one of hundreds of viruses which may affect child.
