In brief: No
It actually helps them to know what to do so they do not panic if sa fire would occur.

In brief: Fire safety programs
They can actually be fun.
Sparky the fire dog (adult in costume) may show up. Often the kids receive small coloring books about fire safety. Children often feel a sense of accomplishment. It empowers children when they can impact their own safety.

In brief: Rehearsal helps
Safety drills allow kids to learn safe methods of exiting the building.
By doing so, the anarchy created by not knowing is removed & the kids are much more likely to respond to an urgent situation in a calm manner. When kids rehearse often, they many times exceed the adults in their ability to respond under pressure.
