BCG VACCINE. Bcg vaccine is not recommended in us. But if your teenage child is going to be in high risk contact with TB patients, like working or studying in healthcare field, only than it may be justified.
I'm not sure if I've had a BCG vaccine when young. (I dont have a BCG scar on my arm) Should I get it now if I'm travelling to India? Thanks
No. BCG is widely utilized in 3rd world setting to prevent miliary tuberculosis which takes many many lives in newborns. It has absolutely no protective effect against tuberculosis (non-miliary). So. Don't waste your time or money.
