In brief: None
An occasional treat is how i was brought up and that is now old fashioned.
There is no doubt that candy in its excesses of today is producing a lot more trouble than just dental decay.

In brief: Chocolate
As an occasional treat.
Stay away from hard candy that bathes teeth insular, sticky candy and starches that linger on the teeth. Drink a glass of water to help clear the sugars off the teeth. Remember, all things in moderation.

In brief: Not many choices
A treat every once in a while is ok.
The least damaging candies are sugar free and sweetened with xylitol. You may be able to find them at a health food store in your area. Too much xylitol can cause stomach discomfort so don't overdo it. Uncoated gummy candies are alright due to their non-sticky properties.
