Epileptics do well by making sure they are still on their meds, have therapeutic levels (correct dosages), & by making sure we don't lower their threshold for seizures.
One way is to reduce pain with an epidural. Another is to decrease the amount of pushing. Another is to have meds readily available in case symptoms develop. Most do very well.
