In brief: Very rarely!
Gum, in extremly rare cases, can get stuck in the digestive tract and cause blockages, but only with a large ingestion of gum. However, usually, swallowed gum moves through.
Some parts of the gum get digested, but some parts (gum resin) cannot be broken down by your body and so they end up coming out when you use the restroom.

In brief: Not really.
Not really. I suppose swallowing 20 sticks sequentially can harm, but otherwise no.
