In brief: Not clear
We are not entirely sure, but a study in the 1970's suggested that relapses could decrease with stress management.
Since ms can be associated with emotional and cognitive issues due to the lesions, it is hard to say how stress may be playing a role. However, it is best to learn to cope with the disorder, and psychological help may be of value. Biofeedback has seemed useful in some cases.
