Docs, could a patient under hemodialysis become fat?

In brief: Dialysis isn't diet

Hemodialysis is to replace the poor function of your kidneys and will remove excess water that your kidneys may not clear and can cause swelling and lung fluid.
This can reduce your "water weight" but has nothing to do with fat metabolism. That depends upon your diet and activity level. Anyone eating the wrong foods and/or taking too many calories with low energy expenditure can gain far weight.
