I took a 3 day medication for a yeast infection, and the cottage cheese type stuff has disappear but not the itching completely yet. Is that normal?

Vaginal itching. If you have treated the yeast infection with an over the counter 3-day medication, and have seen a significant result, then you are likely on the swing away from your suffering. However, if despite your treatment you continue to develop itching after 3-5 days, you may want to consider seeing your gynecologist who may prescribe an oral dose of medication, as well as a cream for those 'itchy' parts! Is it a yeast infection? I have a cottage cheese like discharge with a slight pink hue

Even . Even though the "classic" description of a yeast infection is a cottage cheese-like discharge, without examining you and looking at your discharge under a microscope, i can't say for certain what you have. You should either see your doctor or go see a ob/gyn doctor. Your symptoms could be any one of a number of things including a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichamonas, or some other infection or it could just be leukorrhea which is normal, white discharge. You need a complete gyne exam with cultures and examination of your vaginal fluid. By doing all of this, hopefully your doctor will figure out what is causing your symptoms and be able to treat you appropriately if there is something wrong. Good luck! Read more...
