In brief: Depends but mild

Most patients have mild pain after a surgical bx and require narcotics only for a few days maybe less.
If the lesion is benign, with current technology, many lumps can be removed percutaneously in the office under ultrasound guidance through a puncture rather than incision and patients generally require only over the counter pain meds (tylenol, advil, (ibuprofen) aleve).

In brief: Minor

Usually this is a minor surgery with a small incision, especially if it is for a benign condition.
Usually there is not a lot of discomfort after this surgery, and pain medications would be prescribed after surgery.

In brief: Depends

Obviously depends on the size of the lump.
Small ones have very little pain. Large ones more. Also depends on bruising. If you bleed into the breast can have a deep bruise which can make pain last longer. Still, in my experience most women are pretty sore the first week. By the second week the pain is minimal and they do well.
