In brief: Anxiety /depression

Many times anxiety and depression are experienced together. Lexapro (escitalopram) may be effective to reduce both if given in adequate dose and for at least 4 weeks, which is what it takes to produce full effect.
In some cases can take 8 weeks. Also work with a therapist to see what are the factors involved in the anxiety attacks and how to modify your behavior to prevent them.
