No. Theoretically someone can have a heart problem and GERD at the same time. And chest pain from a heart source could be intermittent, so "improvement" with Pantoprazole could just be coincidental. I would not use this exclusively to rule out the possibility of heart disease. Read more...

If your heartburn fully resolved it is likely you had heartburn but underlying cardiac disease w/risk factors like being male with hypercholesterolemia you need MD to assess the onset location intensity duration character and associated factors such as position and exertion.
