Parent to child. Creutzfeldt-jakob disease, or cjd, is a disease similar to mad cow disease and is caused by a miss-folded protein in your brain. Unlike other forms of the disease, cjd is thought to be familial, being passed from parent to child, in about 10% of cases.
CJD. I am not aware of cases of familial cjd, the disease is very rare and seeing multiple members of one family with it would be extremely rare.
