In brief: 5 + weeks

Ovulation after delivery can occur as early as 3 weeks after delivery.
In a regular cycle menses commence 2 weeks after ovulation. That would make a normal period to appear after delivery after 5 weeks. It may take 6 - 8 weeks for a woman to resume menses after a delivery. Breast feeding would interfere with ovulation and may result in anything between no menses at all or irregular spotting.
