Any time one has a vulnerability that someone ridicules, the typical reaction is a combination of rage and shame. Many children already feel "stupid" becaise something peers do easily is hard for them; teasing just seems to affirm their fear that it's their fault, somehow. It's cruel and should not be tolerated.
