How do I identify peripheral neuropathy? If that's what it is, how should I go about finding the cause so i can seek the right treatment?

In brief: EMG/NCS

The best way at this point is to see a neurologist and have an emg/nerve conduction study done.
Cause is difficult - u may never know, medication induced, traumatic or metabolic (ex-diabetes) good luck.
