In brief: Niacin is an option?

We used to prescribed niacin, a b vitamin to improve the HDL cholesterol.
This medication actually does that, but a study done in 2011 showed that raising the HDL with Niacin did not improve the risk of heart attacks. It not only did not help lower the rate of cardiac events, but the patient on the Niacin group had more strokes. Exercise and a plant based diet is the best way to reduce the risk.

In brief: Lifestyle measures.

The best way to raise cardioprotective HDL is cardiovascular exercise.
Shoot for forty or forty-five minutes daily. Supplementation with no-flush Niacin may help as well, 2000 to 3000mg daily in divided doses, although this might lower your LDL more which would be unnecessary. Fish oil supplements may help this as well, as healthy fats can raise the HDL.

In brief: "Good" Cholesterol

Your cholesterol levels are optimal.
Goal HDL levels for the general population is >40. A mediterranian style diet and cardiovascular exercise are non-pharmacotherapeutic ways to elevate your hdl. You can also use Niacin as an adjunct, but please speak with your primary care physician.
