In brief: Cracked Ribs

Cracked or fractured ribs are painful and it often helps to hold a pillow on that side and laying on that side is fine if comfortable.
Most important not to use a binder or ace wrap around chest as this impedes inhalation. Most common complications of rib fractures is pneumonia from not taking deep enough breaths. Make sure you are taking deep breaths and not splinting that side.
