Working is a great way to build self-confidence, independence as well as to earn money.
It depends on what other activities a teenager is involved in. Remember, their first priority is school - their primary job. If a student is highly engaged in school and involved in numerous extracurricular activities we would not expect them to work very many hours. Most students could work 5-15 hours/week.
