In brief: Lactose isn't absore
Fermentation of lactose in the small inestine from failure to absorb lactose.
The enzyme is present in adequate amounts in all children who are breast fed, and when age appropriate given regular milk. Blacks are suceptible to this at an earlier age, and caucasions, who go for long periods without injecting milk or other lactose containing products. Gas, bloating, cramps, and diarrhea can occur!
