In brief: Blood and body fluid

Hepatitis b is the worlds most common chronic viral infection.
Hepatitis b can be transmitted during sex through body fluids. In addition transmission occurs through blood contamination (recreational drug needle sharing, dialysis centers with poor hygiene). Hepatitis b can also be transmitted from mother to infant at birth. Vaccination is readily available and can prevent transmission.
