In brief: Not transmissible

Your 8 yr old: it is natural to worry.
Does she have any symptoms? Neuroblastoma is a rare condition and is not transmitted from person to person. A visit to your child's pediatrician will help allay your fears. Your friend's 4 year old: it is hard to say. Overall, cure rate in children's cancer is in excess of 80%. Individual cases may vary.

In brief: Not transferrable

Neuroblastoma is not infectious.
So, no she can not get it from him/her. The boy can and probably will survive, the therapy for neuroblastoma these days is excellent.
