What can happen to a child if his body temp drops rapidly, as in getting lost on a ski mountain?

In brief: Hypothermia

Hyopthermia represents the biophysical changes that happen when core temperature drops.
Kids due to their smaller body mass seem more susceptible to dropping body temp. Initially shivering occurs, attempting to warm the body, then lethargy/confusion begin to present. The heart rate speeds up, but as cold persists shivering stops & the heart rate slows and beats irregularly. Coma then death follows.
