My husband has malaria. Can he pass it to the rest of the family?

In brief: "no"
Malaria is not spread person to person, but rather spread by the bite of an infected mosquito.
Depending on where you are, it is not impossible for the right kind of mosquito to bite your husband (and then have the parasite incubate in the mosquito) and then bite a family member transmitting the infection, but very unlikely. If he is back home (eg: us) from traveling then almost impossible.
