Is it ok for a child to use over-the-counter feminine wash?

Douche Products. The vaginal lining of the pre-pubertal child is much more fragile than after puberty. The lining cells are much thinner (squamous) and the pH is more alkaline resulting in lower resistance to bacteria. Like commercial bubblebath products, these washes are more likely to be very irritating in this age group. There is no physiologic need for such products.
Not recommended. The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists recommends AGAINST Douching.
