Much depends on your level of fitness during the pregnancy.
Just as you would start back slow and build if you were laid up with an injury, so you need to work into an exercise regimen beginning2-3 weeks after a vaginal birth and 4-6 weeks after c section. If you did some exercise during pregnancy start there are work up gradually. Starting fresh means go slow.
