In brief: Whole grains!

We live in a world of processed and fast food.
Natural is usually best. Brown rice and whole grains and much healthier and help maintain a normal blood sugar level which feeds the brain. Fresh fruits and vegetables are full of antioxidants which help scavenge free radicals from the body which can be damaging. And of course water to remove wastes. Sunlight and exercise are also critical as is rest.

In brief: Not Known

The other answers so far sound good and may be correct, but there is absolutely no evidence supporting their claims.
But it safe and worth trying.

In brief: Brain Foods

One of the best brain foods is wild salmon because of it's omega 3 fatty acid content that is extremely beneficial to the brain.
One of the worst foods are diet drinks, especially aspartame (nutra-sweet and equal) containing diet drinks. Another harmful food is high fructose corn syrup that causes problems for children and adults.
