In brief: CBT

Speaking as a psychoanalyst, CBT treatment effects are not as long lasting as psychodynamic/psychoanalytic treatment.
When a patient wonders where the distortions in their thought processes began, that is when CBT ends and psychodynamic therapy or psychoanalysis begins, and gets to the root of the problem instead of focusing on the symptom.
