Now that we know there is a link to this surprising scientific finding, herpes screening is more important than ever. We now know that 90% of those with HSV 2 infections do not have sores or outbreaks but still shed virus and can be contagious at unpredictable times.

Men with herpes two infections are five times more likely to get HIV infection. There is a link. So, it is always best to know one's herpes status.
