In brief: No need.

Your baby's skin is reacting to your hormones, which will eventually be excreted out, and the acne will clear by itself.
No treatment is needed. You won't have to deal with it again until he or she becomes a teenager and starts making his/her own hormones.

In brief: Baby acne

Baby acne is self-limited (resolves on its own) and does not need to be treated.

In brief: Eczema?

At times baby acne and eczema may be confusing.
There is no appropriate length of time but after awhile it may be possible that it is eczema and not baby acne. It is important to know which one it is because the eczema needs to be treated with a moisturizing cream/lotion. If it is acne no treatments will be necessary and spontaneous resolution is expected.(moisturizing will worsen acne)
