What should you do if a baby is choking on something?

In brief: Back blows
Immediately turn them over your knee facing downwards and deliver 4-5 quick back blows (firm but not REALLY hard).
Look to see if the food is obviously visible in the mouth. Do NOT do a blind finger sweep as it can push the object further down. This is not the forum for teaching infant CPR, and that may be a class you want to take locally to gain more confidence in what to do.
