Is it safe to have a pet bird and a baby in the same home?

In brief: Yes
Healthy birds & babies can easily share the same home.
Proper hygenic practices (handwashing etc. ) are needed in the care of both. I would confine the bird to an aviary or cage with limited overlap in their activities. Be aware that babies, infants or todlers do not understand the frail nature of some pet birds and some will not tolerate an inquisitive poke or touch without biting baby hard.
