If I had malaria as a child, can I donate blood in the blood drive twenty years later?

In brief: Call and ask
There is a blackout time period, and i believe that if you have malaria, you may be out, even if it was awhile ago.
But you can call the local branch of the blood bank and ask. They will give you a definitive answer and ask how you were treated, etc, and what documentation you may need to bring with you to show you are cured.
