In brief: A big part
Well serenity8 you got it from eating such things in the first place.
You begin by doing so and the cure is avoidance.

In brief: Restrict carbs
Triglyceride production in the liver is especially driven by carbohydrate intake.
So cut everything white (bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, flour, sugar, sweets, cakes etc). Replace with veggies, some fruit, fish, seeds, nuts, soy, etc. Dietary fat is not that bad for triglycerides, but fat has a lot of calories so don't go wild! exercise for 45 min every day.
