You have had a significant surgical event, and subsequent inflammation can cause these feelings.
Also, if you had any medications, or nitrous oxide (laughing gas) that could also contribute. If the feeling does not go away in 24 to 48 hours, call your dentist.

You may also be experiencing the result in muscle spasms in the TMJ and facial areas due to the probable stress placed on these muscles during your surgery.
