In brief: 2 different surgery
These are two very different surgeries.
The goal should not be weight loss but removal or redundant or lax skin, suprisingly the amount of skin removed does not weigh as much as it would seem. In most tummy tucks (witch hazel) the weight of the specimens range from 2-4 pounds. Of course exceptions do exist and upwards of 40 pounds have been removed but this is extreme and does involve significanlty more risks.

In brief: Just ask and see
Ask to see before and after pictures of women with similar issues as you.
Also ask to see where the incision lines will be. You will also be surprised how little that removed tissue weighs, since these procedures should never be considered weight-reducing procedures.

In brief: Not wt loss surgery
This is not a surgery that should be performed to achieve weight loss.
It is typically performed after weight loss and in most instances of people at their ideal weight amounts to about 2-8 pounds.

In brief: They vary and...
How much weight or tissue? These operations vary a great deal between patients so you will need to ask this question of your surgeon and he will have to make a "guess-ti-mate.

In brief: It depends
The amount to be removed depends on your tissues, laxity, and excess skin and subcutaneous tissue.
A full examination can help determine the best procedure for you and the amount to be removed.

In brief: Depends on laxity
Depending on how much of your excess is skin versus fat/skin combination, the amounts removed will vary.
If your skin is very lax (stretch marks), significant skin can be removed, requiring a repositioning of your umbilicus. If there is lots of fat, surgeons will often recommend doing a larger volume liporeduction first, allowing that to heal and followed by a smaller length of tummy tuck incisn.
