Scintillating scotoma usually represents ocular component of migraine.
If it occurs preceding a one-sided headache this is classical migraine. Scint. Scot. Has no treatment but the headache that follows can be prevented by intake of couple of cups of regular coffee or cola drinks. Also see your eye md.
