In brief: Nothing

For a 39 year old, nothing would happen to you.
If children under the age of 12 do it daily, then i'd be concerned about them getting too much Fluoride in their system which can then deposit in their developing and calcifying teeth. Too much Fluoride can cause brown mottling appearance of the enamel. If you have a choice, don't swallow toothpaste.

In brief: Tooth paste eating

Quantity, quantity is the question.
A swallow of tooth paste during brushing is not a problem if the quantity is less that half the length of your tooth brush bristle. If your are brushing three times a day(as we wish you would) still not an issue. Eating tooth paste is not a good idea. Don't .The anti-dote is drinking milk. And probably seek the er also. Kidney failure can ensue.Best.
