In brief: Post-op issues

If it is edema/swelling from the surgery, that may go away with medication and time and monitoring the area.
If it is a hydrocele, it may need surgery, as... Simple hydroceles in children often go away without surgery, however, in adults, hydroceles usually do not go away on their own. If surgery is needed, it is an easy procedure with very good outcomes.

In brief: Postop swelling ?

The treatment needed for swelling in the area of a recent mesh hernia repair depends on "exact" diagnosis.
There are many causes. Although 9 wks post-op is a bit long, most inguinal hernia repairs are associated with some postop. Swelling which usually resolves without specific treatment. Infection ; hydrcele may require some surgical intervention. See your surgeon for diagnosis ; recommendations.
