Is strep mitis always consider contaminant from blood culture?

Context! In many cases, yes- but it depends on the situation. If one was to have a single positive blood culture set out of 2 or 3 sets, and the patient is feeling better without interventions, it may be because of a contamination. However, if someone with terrible teeth has a prosthetic device, clinical symptoms, and labs consistent with an infection, then it may actually be a real infection.
