In brief: Gas pains

There are two types of gas pains after laparoscopic surgery.
The first is the co2 dissipating through the tissues which causes shoulder discomfort in most cases. This generally dissipates within 3 to 4 days. The other type of gas pain is the pain from your intestines waking up and this can last up to a week as your bowels try to regulate themselves and get back to normal. This letter type is associated with abdominal distention and/or bloating. Do any of walking and try to minimize narcotic use.
