My child has acid reflux and is already on zantac (ranitidine). It's not working enough, so what next?

In brief: Possible EE ?

Depending upon your child's age, severity of symptoms, & completeness of past evaluation that has confirmed gerd, you may modify acid-suppression dosing.
However, further evaluation here seems warranted since eosinophilic esophagitis (ee) in children may masquerade as gerd. Ee is infiltration of esophagus by eosinophils & is addressed by an allergist & various delivery forms of topical steroids.
