My 13 year old has chest pains on the upper left side of her chest. It has a dull pain every time she takes a deep breath or moves a certain way.

Musculoskeletal. In adolescents, chest pain that is worse with movement is most typically musculoskeletal. There are joints, bones, and muscles that make up the chest wall and movement of these structures can be associated with pain for many reasons including injury or overuse. Other causes of chest pain are less likely to be worse with movement.
