In brief: Workup/mgt
Food allergies present can present early in life, including those to peanuts.
If the mother is breastfeeding and eating peanuts, the allergen may be transferred to the baby. Peanut allergies tend to present though later in childhood after exposure to eating peanut products. A CAP test may be performed on a blood sample to determine whether the infant has a peanut allergy.
